PANKO BREAD CRUMBS + BASA = YUM!!!

Last week, we were talking about Panko breadcrumbs.  Progresso has a plain and an Italian variety, so I bought the Italian.  They feel more like crushed cereal than the breadcrumbs I've used in the past.

I also bought some Basa (a boneless white fish - very mild - similar to Tilapia), for $3.95 a pound - a pound ended up being 3 good size fillets.

Anyway, I sprayed the broiler pan with Pam, dipped the fish in egg and then in the breadcrumbs (although the box suggested flour, then egg, then Panko, I didn't want to use the flour).

Broiled them for about 20 minutes - O M G!!!  Mom said, "Honey, you can cook that for me anytime!"  It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!!  No fishy taste, smell, etc., and WAY crunchy!

Can't wait to try some more recipes with the Panko!!!

Tia I love fish but I cant help but think everytime I eat tilapia that I had a pet Tilapia that my cousin gave me about 10 years ago. That long before I can remember eating Tilapia I had the fish for about 7 years and come to find out  the fish was a female as once or twice a year she would lay eggs. I hated when she passed away. I do love the taste of the tilapia not to fishy..

Well, I generally only buy seafood from our local (Middle River) store - Geresbeck's - they have a sister store, Box & Save, but I'm not sure if they carry the same items.

I'd offer to cook it for us at our girls' weekend....BUT................cooking while on vacay is not MY idea of a vacay!!!  LOL!!!!

OMG...I love to go to that store. I go there for shrimp and crabmeat when I need to buy it in quantity. And, I use to go for their eclairs prior to wls.

  I so miss them!!!!!

EVERYONE seems to know them for their eclairs!!!  O M G!!!  I don't care for the pastry, but the filling and the chocolate icing - WAAAAAAAAAH!!!!  And one eclair could feed the whole Maryland Board!!!!!!  LOL!!!

In fact, when Mom & I went to the beach a couple of years ago, we had tea at Tea by the Sea in Berlin and the woman who owned it KNEW of Geresbeck's and talked about their eclairs!!!  LOL!!!

I was thinking about tea while we're in Bethany!!  Thoughts?

I love tea! Were you thinking of a do-it-ourselves thing? If so, I have several flavors I could contribute.

Deb -

I'm a tea-aholic, too!!!!  But.....for THIS particular weekend, I was thinking that we could spend the day in Berlin - it's a really cute town.  And Tea by the Sea is just delightful.  There are some really nice stores there, too - antique and some Christmas shops, etc.

For right now, it's just a thought.  And it's against my religion to cook/prepare anything while I'm on vacay - unless I absolutely have to!!!!

I love Berlin and I have never been to a tea so whatever the crowd wants to do. Remember though, we are not in OC so it will take longer to get there.....unless someone knows a short cut.
