i question whether or not i'm lazy
i question whether or not i can lose enough weight without surgery
i question whether or not surgery is right for me (i know it's right for hubby and i was doing it partially as a way to support him)
maybe i'm making the wrong choices.

today i am discontent.

Nessa

We all have the same feelings preop -  my only suggestion would be keep going forward-
get any additional testing done and see how you feel as you go thru the process.
You can decide against WLS at any time right up until the day of surgury
If you want to see if you can lose weight without surgury go for it:  but
keep going forward so if you decide surgury is something you want you will
have all the preop work done.

I would suggest getting into an exercise routine now if you can - It will help postop.

ah thanks Darla.

I know i can lose without surgery.
I can't keep off and i can't get below 210 or so.

I still have to schedule cardio and pulmonary stuff.  and i'm dragging my feet.

i need to go back to my gym too.  I spend 100 dollars a month on a gym i don't use.

how sad I am.

I can remember sitting in DVR's office and telling him of the fear that I just would not be able to keep the weight off after surgery. He said something to the affect of "you don't strike me as someone who wouldn't be able to do it."  I know I could not get the weight off because I struggled so many years but I also still struggle with not doing the right things after surgery. I will probably struggle for the rest of my life but I will never give up.....that is one thing I know for sure!

Today, you are normal.

1.  No, you're not lazy - do you stay in bed all day?

2.  Sure you can, and probably have - I did, many, many times over.  I ALWAYS gained it back and then some.  Hopefully, surgery will provide you the TOOL to initially lose weight, and then the good habits that you've hopefully learned, will kick in and help you FIGHT, yes, I said, FIGHT, to maintain the weight loss.

3.  Only YOU can know this.  It's wonderful that you want to support Bri, but if he wasn't in the picture, would YOU still want it for YOU?  It's a tough question - be honest with yourself.

4.  See #3.

We're here for you - we've all been there, done that.  And I'm currently wasting $30 a month at the gym, so you're in good company.  What gym do you belong to?

Hugs,

Tia

while i dont' stay in bed I don't do much other than work and errands.  LOTS of ERRANDS  kid to the vet, dogs to the pediatrician.  oh wait... LOL reverse that.

in may 2006 i started south beach.   i was a SBD NAZI.  then it got harder. I stuck with it (adding a bit of Weigh****chers in early 2008)  and lost nearly 80 pounds.  I've gained 50 of it back.  fast.

cause i eat.  A LOT.

would i be thinking this without brian.... yes for sure.

i just feel like so many folks say  "why can't you just eat right???  you know WHAT do to why don't you just DO IT???"

oh and I belong to LIFEBRIDGE  (right by trader joes)

LOL!!!  If I could take Happy to the kids' ped, it'd be CHEAPER!!!!!

Okay, so you're a typical working Mom - certainly not what I'd call lazy.  You're busy living your life.
I've been on every diet known to man - including WW - yes, I was a WW NAZI.  Same song as yours, trust me.

You answered your own question, so DO IT.

The dynamics of what you eat and why are no one's business but your own.  It's all easier said than done, and usually the fluff-brains who MAKE those comments have NO clue what it's like to fight these particular demons!!!  Screw them, Nessa.  Do it for YOU, to become a healthier and happier Nessa - inside and out.

BTW, your appt. is on Monday at 2 with Ranesa?  Call me when you're done, maybe we can meet at TJ's - unless you have something to do with the kids.  I usually get off from work at 4, but maybe I can leave a bit earlier!!

Welllllll................I see her in HER office, which is on Sudbrook, in the Beacham Square office.  But since she's on DVR's staff, I'm guessing she maintains office space there, too?  Sorry, didn't mean to confuse you.

Tell you what - call me when you're about 10 minutes away from TJ's.  I've got to type tonight, so I don't know what time I'll leave.  But we'll see if we can't meet!!

And PM me your cell so I answer when you call!!!

Hugs,

Tia
