today i question...

Just want to agree with everything Deb said :

At first I was so embarrased to go to the gym but after a week or so I didn't worry about
how I looked.  I've worked my ass off ( well a lot of it anyway LOL) and made some good
friends along the way.  As Deb said total strangers will offer encouragement
as they see how you are working to make yourself healthy and happy.
Sure there are days where I don't want to go:  but I am so glad I did once I get there.

I started taking some water classes a month or two after I started and
talked them up to Deb and she finally joined in too.  I started taking a pilates (reformer)
class and between the instructor and I we talked Deb into that one too.

I had met Deb first at a support group meeting I think then started noticing her
there at the MAC.  I know there have been days where I'll get an email saying are
you going to the Mac tonight and that is enough to get me to go.

Don't be too embarrased to go to the gym :  It is so important to exercise during
this process.

I use the college gym.  It's so hard to see these very thin 20 year olds running on the treadmill while my fat, tired working and taking care of my son butt is only going 3.5 miles per hour.  But, I really don't care anymore!  I'm just gonna do my thing!  LOL

3.5 miles per hour----treadmill

Are you kidding? I'm lucky if I do 3.5 mph AFTER dropping all my weight.

I'm actually in really good shape for a heavy person.  I have a very physical job and have had it for years.  I'm very active.  I do intervals on the treadmill.  I walk at 3.5  mph for the first 5 min.  At every 5 minute mark, I up the speed to 4 mph for two minutes.  Then I give myself a break for the next three minutes and do 3.5 mph.  I do this rotation for an hour.  I like moving the speeds because I can get my heart rate up and I don't get as bored.  We also have a tv on each treadmill.  I like to listen to my music, but want to have something to look at, so I put on the animal channel.  It get a little provacative each morning.  This morning, the lions were being naughty!  LOL

Keep your head up!!!! I felt the same way this morning and now I realize that it is just a matter of time and I (we) will be as happy and skinny as all of our friends here. LOL.

I was feeling sad earlier today and several friends gave me the encouragement to get over it and see the light again.......one of those people was YOU. THANK YOU.

Keep your head up!

talked to a guy friend at work.

he watches his weight due to diabetes.

he pointed out to me that I have a good hold on this. my thought process is rational AND as LONG AS HE'S KNOWN me i've struggled with my weight...

he made tons of sense.

It's great when the right person knows exactly what to tell you to make you feel better.   :)
