Appointment with Dr Mo in 2 hours
SIGH. Me, too. You don't even wanna KNOW how long it's been since I've had a follow-up. Okay, you wanna know? 3 years. I know, I know. I actually DID call GBMC to have my records transferred to DVR - they're gonna fax me the release.
But you know what? I think, to a degree, a weight regain or stabilization is NOT uncommon, so don't sweat it.
Think about it, what are they gonna do? Reverse your surgery??????
Don't be askeered!!!!
Hugs,
Tia

I am fairly new post op but when my doc and I were discussing my long term goal weight he took into account that I *may* gain some weight back.
We discussed a goal at like 18 months and then he gave me a long term goal which was like 10 -15 lbs more because he said that our bodies possibly will pick a small bit of weight back up which is normal.
So I wouldnt be scared. Like Tia said, what are they gonna do reverse your surgery? lol

Are you still expected to be losing weight at this point? I'm not as far out as you are, so I'm just curious as to what's expected of us at this point. I just hit my year mark last week and I have my "one year post-op" apptointment next Thursday at 3pm. The last time I was there, he said he didn't expect me to lose anymore and I was fine to stay where I was then... I think I've lost maybe only 5 more lbs. or so... but this is it for me.
Side note: My appt. is at 3pm but I'm sure I'll sit in the waiting room til 4pm... then be called back to sit in an individual room for another half hour or so... and then MAYBE see Dr. Moein around 4:45... *sigh* I really wish appointments there didn't get SO back-logged!!!

Or from cramming too many patients into "office" days to make as much $$$ as possible. If a doctor really wanted to spend extra time with patients, don't over-book and then make patients wait two hours to actually be SEEN. Book enough time for EACH patient to be seen in a timely fashion.
Sorry for the rant but the office just REALLY bugs me there.

Yeah...I would wager that it is too many patients and not enough staff. Especially since DVR left and took most of the staff with him. I really liked him but didn't want to transfer to St Agnes. Anyway, I shouldn't have to go back after this for quite awhile. In the meantime I am looking for a new PCP.

Good luck at your appointment, Gail. I'm sure it'll be fine! It's not like he can go reverse your surgery if he thinks you aren't "performing" to your best (as Tia and April stated). LOL
I really like Dr. Moein and I'm glad I decided to switch to him right before my surgery date, instead of following DVR to St. Agnes. I live in Towson and GBMC is right around the corner from me, so it just made a lot more sense. Office issues aside, I'm really happy with Dr. Moein.
