THE FEED BAG
Chemicals, shemicals!!!
And...FYI.....after my wls, I COULDN'T drink plain water - made me gag. I also couldn't do cold water for a LONG time, had to be room temp.
Us RNY people are..................DIFFERENT!!!
Well, the trick is to get full from the protein so that there's no room left for anything, no matter how badly you want it.
But honestly? If I really want something, I have a little. A little goes a long way after wls. There's always s/f stuff (watch the sugar alcohols).
S/f gum.
The one thing that really saved my life post-op was S/F Icebreakers Sours (they're sold in round tins by the gum near cash registers). These things saved my life. The sour really helped for that 30 minute no drinkie period after I'd finished eating. I usually carry the Sours and the Cinnamon flavored ones.
Hugs,
T

You just will, that's all. The sours REALLY helped afterward.
Keep in mind that once you've eaten dense protein, your pouch is sort of like a clogged drain - add water to it and it doesn't push anything through, it just kind of builds up until it overflows (you get sick). You DON'T want that!!
Also, adding liquid to solid, protein dense foods can create like a "slurry," which passes too quickly, and doesn't give you that "full" feeling you need.
It will all come together, I promise. And I'll be here to help!!
