My sad realization...
I just realized that I have stalled 6 out of 13 weeks since surgery. I think I must have messed something up. I would often forget to sip my water. I can now drink water without pain. I can't guzzle, but I can drink.
When I told my son I didn't lose any weight again he said: "I'm sure you lost weight. Gravity just got stronger."
I'm sorry I'm such a neurotic pita!

I know this is hard because we want it ALL and we want it NOW! But remember, our success is not measured by pounds alone. Our bodies take time to adjust periodically. You may be losing inches, building muscle while losing fat. or simply adjusting. As hard as it is, feel good about yourself, stay the course, and you will be rewarded over time.

You're not neurotic and you're not a pita. We've all been there, done that as far as stalls. Your body underwent MAJOR trauma/adjustments and needs time to get used to its new "plumbing."
Simply put, because you've had RNY, at least for the first 9 months, there's no way you won't lose weight. None. You could essentially eat crap during that time and just because of the new configuration, you'd still lose weight. Hence the term "honeymoon period." It's during this time that it's essential that you develop/maintain good eating, drinking and exercise habits that will carry over into the rest of your life.
After the first 12-18 months, you can still lose weight and probably will, but once that "window of opportunity" closes, it becomes MUCH more difficult and you'll have to work a lot harder to do so.
So take a deep breath, continue doing what you're doing and it WILL fall into place. I promise.
Hugs,
Tia

Hello I know that at times our bodies do need to adjust. I am sure if you are exercising that you may be building muscle. Don't give up as I am sure you are doing well. I know from my own experience that we feel the weight should come off faster and we don't realize that we are losing....Take care and keep your head up you can do this...

You might upset your stomach by gulping down water but i am sure you haven't stretched it out by drinking water.
We are more neurotic about our wweight loss when you might never have been neurotic about anythign else because it is a big deal. We made this decision, we took this giant step and we want to see regular results. We are all fearful of the surgery failing. In my head, I still see myself as a 265 lb woman who people stare at. I am a year and a half out and I still get neurotic over stalls. Let your body adjust. Change up your excercise routine, your calorie intake and your body will respond. Sometimes, it's just taking a much needed rest from all the changes happening to it.

I think feeling neurotic this close to surgery is normal!
Not knowing when I stall is why I don't have a scale in my house! I was sooo scared of the third week stall, that I didn't want to eat, but had to force food for the first time ever...
I like your son's explanation! Mine would be that you gained muscle... are you doing measurements or just weighing in?
I haven't done measurements yet, but I need to this weekend! Also need to update my blog and get new pics posted to so I can see side by side if there are any changes!

I am going to... Wanted to do them Wednesday but we went out to dinner for my one month mark, and by the time we got home I was exhausted. Last night I cooked and just lost track of time and before I realized it, the PJ's were on...
Maybe tonight will be the night!
Are we ever truly done?? I suspect even if your big loss is over, it is not going to be the finale. Life will give us ups and downs... But if you want to call it your final go to the spa for the day and come home for the grand finale photo!
Hmm... or let's just all go the spa... I need a break! Come July, come hell or high water I am spending a day at the spa!
