Oh. My. Goodness.
Mellie -
THAT'S AWESOME!!! CONGRATS TO YOU AND MARTY!!!! I know it's overwhelming, and like everyone said, everything you're feeling is perfectly normal.
As soon as they start prepping you, let them know you're especially jacked up - although you might NOT be - if you're like me, you'll just want to get the ball rolling!!!
Okay, in the next few weeks, you need to stock up on some protein SAMPLES, and I say samples because you don't want to buy a bunch of anything (excep****er) lest you don't like the flavor. Check out www.bariatriceating.com, www.unjury.com, www.vitalady.com, they all sell samples of powders and most also have recipes on their sites for protein shakes, too. Like I said, stock up on water and flavored drink packets (Crystal Light or the Walmart or Target equivalent), get some broth and some s/f jello, too.
As far as what to take to the hospital for both you AND Marty - take lip balm, a pillow for the ride home (and if you're really picky, for when you're IN the hospital), and some comfy/stretchy clothes for the ride home. Anything beyond that is superfluous.
Just let us know what you need - we're here for you!!
Hugs,
Tia

Congrats. Dr Singh is a really great guy - and Mary is a super lady! We were all nervous. And as for the losing money part - DON'T RUSH BACK!! Even though I took 2+ weeks off from work I could have probably returned in less than 10 days. Was I glad to have the extra time - yes....but I was comfortable at 2 weeks.
