Sorry everyone,

I got home picked up the family and went to the O's game, not really a baseball fan anymore, but Maggy's school had tickets for cheap, and they had fireworks after the game. It was the girls first ball game, O's won and they got to see a grandslam. A good night all and all. Didn't get home 'till after midnight, had to get up early to setup yard sale for my wife, then go to work. whew It was a long day.

Anyway, visit went well, diet looks good, weight is up. I asked about his thoughts on the DS, he said it is an excellant procedure, but I am not fat enough to need it. He feels I would do great with a RNY. I told him I was going to talk with Dr Vanguri, he said I should, did not seem to have any problem with it at all.

Well I'm not sure what to think, I am kind of leaning back towards Dr Averbach, it would keep me on the good side of my endo, the only reason I would go somewhere else is for a DS.

What opinions does every have? I'm 44, 306lbs, 6'3", Diabetic, and very active at work, and chasing my two young girls around.

Thanks,
Tom

Tom -

Based on your comorbidity of diabetes and your weight, my opinion would be RNY.  And with Dr. A.  We already discussed WHY in our PM's, but again, it's JUST my opinion.

Go with your instinct - when I do that, I mine doesn't usually lead me astray.

Good luck!!

Tia
