Very well written. Thank you for pointing out how the positives so "out weigh" the negatives. So what if I am not gonna have a thick slice if bread from the oven. I can run up the stairs now instead of one at a time and out of breath. What I have given up God has blessed me with so many blessings to not miss the few.
I hope you found someone, but I really like my gastro - I have a family history of colon cancer. He is in Columbia, MD - Rudy Rai. Spends lots of time with you and explains things.
hello. I just started going to dr gandsas. I too don't know much about him however I do that has been doing bariatric surgery for a longtime. He has worked at John Hopkins and other well known hospitals. I was at the hospital for some test and the nurse said that he has an impeccable record. She doesn't work for him but she said that none of his patients have come back with issues. Anyway that's who I decided to go with. Praying that
God will be with me every step of the way.
Hi everybody i am having the gastric sleeve surgery in mid July. Just looking for the truth about all the information out there. I was informed today by a friend, if i eat even a tiny amount of sugar after surgery it will kill me. Note to self don't tell your friends about the surgery. Has anybody else had this experience pre surgery?
I just had to say..I think its interesting that my surgery is in June also (6.2.14) and my surgeons name is Dr. YOO :) just spelled differently! Good luck!

Hi I'm getting my surgery done at Franklin Square June 17th. 2014, anyone else have or had Dr. You?
May will be my six month time frame with Kaiser to have a revision from the band to the sleeve. Everything is completed but the weight. I have gained. I never had this issue until I got the band it's hard as heck to lose with the band. Has anyone had to go through the revision with Kaiser and could not lose the weight.
I was JUST thinking about this and see that you have the same idea. There are so many Bariatric centers in Maryland, we could arrange swaps in different areas on a monthly basis, or at least every other month. I would be willing to help organize this. I live in the Baltimore area. I am going to share this with people in my hospital's support group and see if there would be interest in participating in such a swap.

CareFirst of Maryland has a multitude of plans...BlueChoice, BluePreferred, etc. etc. Some are HMOs, PPOs, or high deductible plans. You have to call CareFirst and check about your specific plan for coverage.
Hello, Does anyone know if there is a support group in the Waldorf/LaPlata area? I am a member of several online support groups but was looking for one face to face. Thank you
