I'd love to find a support group closer to me, the only one I've gone to is Johns Hopkins Bayview, but Baltimore is a bit of a drive for me (I'm in Columbia). I'm kind of new to the support-group concept, so enlighten me...are these usually open to anyone?

I had surgery at Johns Hopkins Bayview last month, though it was with Dr. Anne Lidor. I can't say enough good things about her and the JH experience, absolutely no complications and the nursing staff was top-notch in their sensitivity and care.

Shady Grove has support groups on Thursday. I haven't been in a few weeks (or maybe months) but still get the emails...
The next Post-Op Bariatric Surgery Support Group is February 24, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in Advanced Weight Loss Surgery's waiting room which is located at 9707 Medical Center Drive, Suite 200, Rockville, MD 20850. Please try to arrive before 7:00 p.m. because the building is locked at 7:00 p.m.

You were right. I had no trouble finding it.
They rescheduled my series 1 testing for yesterday so I got that done and my 6th month nutrition meeting.
Does anyone know about how long from this point will surgery be? March, April, May? How long did yours take from your last NUT meeting? I have to arrange for my husband and Mom to take off work because I have 2 year old twins and 2 other kids in school so they keep asking me when and I don't know what to tell them yet.
At this point I just want to get it done!

Hi all,
I wanted to have another outing with my MD peeps, new and old, and wanted to try to do something not revolving around food. I suck at bowling but it is fun and it is easy for all of us to socialize while doing it. Anyone interested? Also where would be the best bowling location. remember that it should be somewhere fairly easy for everyone to get to. I know, that is tough but maybe someplace inside the beltway?
anyway let me know if you are interested. I am thinking sometime in early April?
