Topic: INSURANCE HELP
Hey group! So I posted this as a reply on another post but wanted to make it a topic as well. Hope you all don't mind. :-)
So I live in Md and I have Blue Cross Blue Shield with my employer that has way over 50 employees and WLS is NOT covered in our plan at all.
The plan does not cover WSL or anything related to losing weight or nutrition. No diet pills( my doc just put me on Phentermine and I'm paying for it myself), no nutrition classes etc.
How can I get WLS?
I talked to my doc and she said she would be shocked if my insurance didn't cover WLS before most employers see that it saves them money in the end. Well surprise surprise. Somebody plz help me :-/
Thank you!

Topic: RE: BCBS Blue Choice
Hey guys I really need some help here. So I live in Md and I have BCBS with my employer that has way over 50 employees and WLS is NOT covered in our plan at all.
The plan does not cover WSL or anything related to losing weight. No diet pills( my doc just put me on Phentermine and I'm paying for it myself), no nutrition classes etc.
How can I get this added on or get my own plan so I can get this surgery? If anyone can guide me in this process I'd really appreciate it. :-)
Thank you!

I also highly recommend Dr. Liao at GBMC. I had lap RNY, but they do VSG. The program at GBMC is very thorough -- you definitely feel like you're in good hands, and I think the world of Dr. Liao. He is mild mannered, very accessible, and will answer all your questions. I never feel rushed when I see him, as is often the case when you see any doctor. (I've also heard great things about his practice partner, Dr. Mo, but I can't recommend him personally.)

That is odd that you are saying 40 bmi and 45 w/ 2 comorbidities because i was told 40 bmi or 35 with 2 comorbidities, Maybe it is the employee group. Anyway, good luck.

I need to know if anyone is intrested in attending please leave me a message below.
I have vitamins from Celebrate, and some shake samples in Chocolate, Vanilla, and Cinnamon Swirl.
It is open to everyone those who have had, looking to have, or just to get some information on things.
I am looking for speakers that are willing to tell us their journey and just anyone who want to talk. Think of it as an AA for the Obese.

Congratulations on your new job and kudos to you for coming here! It was the medical professionals in my life who finally convinced me that weight loss surgery was a viable option and not just some new and dangerous fad. Not one of them had anything bad to say about it and each and every one of them had the facts - and the encouragement - at hand. So, it's a good thing when a medical professional who has also experienced this in his/her private life comes aboard:)
Welcome!

Dr. Averbach did my surgery and one of the reasons I really love his practice is that their insurance people are REALLY on the ball!:) Good luck with your surgery:)!!

I like the Auquatic Center and they do have a grea****er aerobics class but I cannot tolerate the amount of chlorine they use in the pools. It literally burned the inside of my nose and my eyes were bloodshot for a week.
