I am a medical transcriptionist and have been for 13 years now!!! I am having surgery on April 18th. Open RNY. I am curious to see how long it took other postops to get back to work. I CANNOT imagine being off of work for 8 weeks - I will be bored out of my skull. I work at home - so, I feel like I should be able to get back to it in 2 weeks flat! I figure I will be "sitting" in another room recovering - why not "sit" at my desk and work while I recover LOLOL!! I'm not going to "Pu****" - but, was just curious what has been your experience. Thanks and best wishes too everyone!!! XOXO

Hi Gina, I had my RNY two years ago. I've been a transcriptionist for a good 20 years. At the time of my surgery, I was working at our local hospital, but after surgery, started working from home. I started back about two weeks after surgery. Like you, I figured I could be sitting in front of the TV or sitting in front of my computer earning morning. I was more than ready. Good luck with your upcoming surgery. Let us know how you do. Teresa
