Topic: Need clothes for an extreme makeover.. HELP
Need clothes for a neighbor Original Post by Loraine May at 10:02 PM EST on 02/14/2006 Byesville, OH - RNY (05/06/2005) - Dean J. Mikami, M.D. I have a neighbor lady who is just my age and is fast approaching around 600 pounds. She recently lost her funding for home health care and housekeeping and can no longer do these things for herself. She has asked me to help her with grocery shopping and laundry. Last night I went to the laundromat for her and I was almost in tears as I folded her clothes and those of her mentally retarded brother she cares for. They were stained and tattered. I felt so badly for her. I noticed that her clothes are a size 6 x and he wears size 56 jeans and 3 x men's top. IF anyone would happen to have access or have decent clothes in any of these sizes I would be so grateful. I want to help this family out in any way I can. I feel so badly for this young lady that she is going to die an early death and wls could save her life. I just don't know how to approach the subject with her, or even if it is my place to do so. I just love and care about her and would love to see her have a better quality of life. She is completely housebound now at 44 years of age. Feel free to send letters or cards of encouragement to her as well. They are also in need of personal care items, gently used towels and washclothes and undergarments. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. We are planning an extreme makeover for their house ( cleaning etc)and a beautician is donating her time to come and give Patty a full beauty treatment and a hair cut for her brother. I cant wait to see the joy on her face... It is going to make all of this worth it. I will keep you all informed how things are going. Any ideas how I can help her and her brother, without being a nosy busybody...I want to share my happiness about my weight loss and the wls but I dont want to force my opinion on anyone. It has to be her choice and her willingness to stick with the new way of life forever. All I can do is offer her this help and the rest is up to her. HELP.. Love and Hugs, Laura

Trevor, you sound as if you've got a good game plan. Stick to it and you'll be successful. I am an over comer of panic attacks and overwhelming anxiety. I do take medication but I believe that I am healed from my anxiety attacks. When ever I felt one coming on I would begin to quote scripture "God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind". Good luck to you on your endevours for 2006. May all of your dreams come true and goals are met. You can do it!

hi maureen, thanks for your response. i agree that putting god first then all other things will be added is true. i am trying to build up my faith, i have faltered some over the years for various reasons that most people can relate to. the love of god i think is keeping his commandments and applying bible wisdom to our lives. using bad language for example cost me my job, if only i had applied the bibles advice to always let my speech be acceptable to all. if i had applied that bit of advice i would still hold my job today. with god i feel like a little baby again, taking my first steps towards my mum and she is there smiling with arms held open calling me. ive stumbled many a time in trying to reach god and the thought of trying again makes me feel nervous but i gotta try and if i reach him i have no doubt i will experience a feeling like i have never known before. catch up with you later from trevor : )

For a message board about meeting ppl, its amazing how few replies I see to past post. There are only two men that have posted. Do you think that could be the problem? And if so, how do we get more men on this board? LOL Maureen

My Dear Friend Trevor, That is a wonderful list! The only suggestion I have for you is to move #6 to #1, then maybe if you keep your eyes on the heavens, and trust in Gods will, the rest of your list will come true. Maureen

whatever we want it always requires effort. my dream or wish for 2006 is a number of things. here is my list of things i want to happen in 2006. 1. i want to find a way to cope with having essential tremor(panic attacks) its my number one problem and at the age of 38 there must be a way to free myself from this prison of anxiety which i allow to stop me from living a full happy life. 2. if i cannot lose weight, i would like to learn to accept it and not let it make me feel unattractive. 3.if i can archive number 1, then i will go out and really make use of my full potential which i still believe i havent archieved because of this anxiety. 4.do all the things i want to do but always feel afraid or shy to do. 5.find a girlfriend and hopefully get married and i dont mind what she looks like..every woman is a blessing to mankind. 6.finally devote my life to doing gods will 7.to live the rest of my life happy at long last 8.to believe in myself 9.to learn how to do a good snare drum roll(lol) ive been working on that for years! 10.to be a good father if i ever am blessed with children.
