SJ You have as much right to try to influence the direction of this board as any other member. Its brave to criticize a prevailing viewpoint. You should continue to do so. I believe that if one member is rude to another he should be called out on it, but to date I have not seen that happen. I hope I never do. As for the foul language, I am not offended by it, but since you say you are, I will not use it.

I am somewhat at a loss for words here, which is indeed a rarity considering my big mouth. I am pretty negatively oriented when it comes to being directed to be PC in everything spoken. Mostly because it is a movement that makes people afraid to challenge the flow for wrong reasons. I support SJ and feel bad that the direction of the conversation resulted in his being offended. However this is precisely the advantage the "Locker Room" affords us. Do I feel bad that my cheap shot post offended SJ...Yes! Would I make it a reason to kick him in the teeth for his opinions....Not at all. I personally am not a swearer by nature, and I really like the person that started me on my seeming harmless post, however there is a sense of loosen the tie and speak your mind that is refreshing in this board. In the women dominated boards where sweet talk and confrontational conversation is not welcome, what a drag it would be without a place to watch a game and burp up some trash talk. Tman

Well said Tony and SJ. I like hearing from both of you. I love the locker room and don't want it like the girls room.

Tony, Wow, this discussion really did take off, didn't it? My initial response was just a smart-ass crack because I feel the same as you about the PC police. I think there's a difference between swearing and vulgarity. There's a difference between frankness and rudeness. There's a difference between irreverance and being obnoxious. As one who was born and raised and lives and works in San Francisco, I daily have to experience Political Correctness in the extreme. In my community, no matter how open and accepting of alternative lifestyles and veiwpoints, one would be considered - by many factions of the community - to be closed minded if you had the audacity to suggest that being 'married with children' in *normal*. Anyway, that's the context in which I took your comments. I've never experienced anything out of line from the guys here and have never been offended by the locker room atmosphere. I think that's what draws most of us here. That's my two cents. Have a great day and keep speaking your mind! Dennis

Hi Bob, Starting another forum, doesn't mean "go away". People are on multiple forums all the time! The challenge would be getting the posters, I think. Wish I could respond to your e-mail, but the new OH system posting boxes have cut me off from mailing other members. e-mail addresses are no longer visible, which is sometimes a positive thing. At any rate, sounds like you're going through a really tough time with the psychological eating, activity level and so forth. Hope the support here helps you. I have always enjoyed your posts and support, as well. Best Regards, Dave

Well perhaps a "PC-Men's Forum" is in order? Wait a minute, that's not a nice thing to say. I meant to say a happy place to post and share positive opinions by the estrogenically challenged. Just kidding. In all seriousness though, there are all different kinds of men out there. Loud, quiet, fat, thin, etc. Part of tolerance is realizing that some men have potty mouths, so you need to show some tolerance and substitute the naughty words with clean ones. For example, if you get cut off on the highway, you would say " Darn it all to heck. Fiddlesticks!" Okay, I am laughing to hard to even finish this. Nevermind.

Wadda you mean "Fat"? I take offense to being pidgeon-holed as a fat person. What the #$%@%# is your problem?

Let me check my list. Yes "Fat" is not Politically Correct. I should have said- "horizontally gifted" or "person of substance" or a "metabolic underachiever".

I don't usually post here anymore. DON'T CHANGE. You are my refuge from the 'winks' and 'sweeties'. I can ignore the language. Heck some of the really bad stuff comes out of my daughters mouth. Please do not change. I have garnered so much information from you guys, that I share with my hubby. Thanks and I'll leave now Tink
