Bob McQueen - Sunday Afternoon Update

Gents, Not much of an update... I just got off the phone with Bob's wife and there's been no change since Friday when I spoke with her.  He is still in critical condition - no better or no worse.  He has not improved to the point to where they can close him up.  Currently his incision sternum to below the belly button is still open.  Plans are for another surgery tomorrow (a "washout") to clean-up the drainage.  His drains have a large amount of fluid coming from them - the fluid from them is not as dark as it was in previous days so that "could" be a positive sign, but not sure.  The fluid from Bob's JP drain from his pouch is producing stomach acids so that appears to be a positive. So at this point, not much change.  I will say that Bob's wife sounded extremely tired so she could definitely use some extra prayers to help lift her up. More info as it becomes available...I hope the next time I receive any news that it's from Bob directly and he's conscious and on the road to recovery.  At this point, it sounds like he's got a difficult road to travel. Thanks CF I know this is disheartening...especially when we have had so much success..To all the board guys, and all the lurkers, even though there are lots of people that breeze through...we cannot forget this is a major surgery... Bob’s condition sounds eerily familiar to me. I know his wife is having a rough go of it. Hope they will be able to close him up soon. Staying open for 5 months is no fun at all. Thanks for the update.  My prayers continue and I look forward to hearing from Bob soon (boy will he have a story to tell).  As was said before, we all are told about how tough a surgery this is and something like this serves to remind us. Prayers and best thoughts to Bob and his family to help all get through this, Brian

Thanks again for the update.  They have prayers from Houston.  It once again reminds me how blessed I was not to have these and other problems after mine.

I haven’t posted in months but do drop in every week or 2 to check up on how the locker room is going……. And see one of our own are having troubles.

We surely appreciate your keeping us updated on our friend Bob.  We here in Kokomo are lifting Bob and his family up in our continual prayers.  I pray that God's healing hand will bring Bob thru this time and that comfort of the Holy Spirit be with his wife and family as they sit and wait.  I also continue to pray for the medical team that is working on Bob.
