Vitimans
Hey guys, I got another question. I was just wondering, how many vitimans should I take? Right now I take 1 Centrium chewable a day but was thinking maybe I should increase it to 2? I take a B complex once every other day just to maintain my levels. Right now I am fine on levels but I am also only 4 months out. I want to get on top of this before I head down to Antarctica where they dont have vitimans...haha...
Didn't your surgeon give you a vitamin regime to follow post op? Just from seeing what other RNYers take on a regular basis you sound kind of "light' on the vitamins.
I'd also would think you should get blood work done now so that you can get your regime down before you go away. In general most RNyers (from what I've seen) take 1 or 2 multis, some type of B or B complex pill (including B-12 sublingual) and some type of calcium suppliment.
Again, you should get blood work done by your surgeon and follow his post op protocol.

I take OptiSource. It's specifically designed for post-bariatric patients. I take the recommended 4 chews per day. OptiSource has all the vitimans we need after RNY. Because of the irreversible damage low B-12 can cause, I also take 500 mcg B-12 sublingual.
So far, my blood work has been good. I've been taking OptiSource for 3 months.
I take Optisource chewable four times a day. It was what my surgeon and nut. reccomended. I also take 500 mg of sublingual B-12 twice a day and Biotin once a day, I think it is 300 mg. It was the smallest pill, size wise, I could find. I have also have at least one protein drink a day. I use Isopure, it also has vitamins and minerals in it. pan head
