Anyway, my surgeon said just to wait until at least 6 months after surgery, and there should be no problems. I think the 6-month wait is because she doesn't want any of the 'roto-rooter' medicine you have to take before the colonoscopy to mess with your new stitch lines.

This is no problem. I had mine a year and a half ago. The doctor's should be aware of your medical history before any procedure. They'll make all the right turns with their video equipment.
The prep is really something you will treasure. Just make sure that you are home and have a standing reservation with the toilet that evening. The prep will definitely clear you out. I think you are required to have someone drive you home after the procedure. They'll probably give you a color picture to take home for some reason. Still can't figure that one out.

Agree!! All I know is I felt extremely "violated" after the procedure (aka the twister) and basically just curled up in a fetal position once I got home.
