Well Gang, I've finally done it.  I stepped on the scales this morning, and I am down to 215 lbs!  That brings my BMI down to 29.9, which means I am no longer obese!  This has been an amazing journey which just keeps getting better.  The other day I donated my last pair of sweat pants and bought my first pair of jeans in years!  I've went from a size 46-48 pants down to a 38, from a 4XL-5XL shirt down to an XL.  My parents brought me 2 huge trash bags of clothes I had in high school, and I had to donate most of them because they were too big!  I'm now able to do 30 minutes on the treadmill at its steepest incline every morning, and when I'm done, I'm only slightly winded!  This surgery is absolutely the best decision I've ever made!

Congrats -  it sounds like we were about the same size at surgery time. I had my RNY on Sept. 10 and have lost 59 lbs so far. I hope I am able to keep losing like you did. Weigh to Go ....

Ain't it grand how much fun reversing the process can be! Pre-surgery, moving UP to overweight is a DOWNER. Post-surgery, moving DOWN to overweight is an UPPER. Congrats on the trip to Upsidedown Ville.

Yeah, I told my PCP today that I was "merely" obese. She wasn't too impressed, but her nurse (a large woman) was very excited for me. I was at the doc for a prostatitis follow-up visit. My doc, an attractive female, asked if the doc I saw last time had done a rectal exam, and was relieved when I said he had, and that she did not need to redo the exam. I was also relieved. Doc didn't find anything last time, but it was certainly not for a lack of enthusiasm he put into the effort. It is tough being over 50.
