Don't know what to say, Dale...except...it feels full really easily...

...unless you eat sweets or any liquids. Your first three months you'll be lucky if you can get a small teacup of anything down.

It's either great (if being thin is on your mind)

-or-

it's torture (if food is on your mind).

I am just over three weeks post op. And like many others here I doubt anyone enjoyed food more than I did. Cooking it, eating it, then planning my next one. I can tell you this is absolute craziest feeling in the world post op. Food has ZERO influence over me. Now I can tell you that the mental part could be wildly different for each person. I myself was mostly a bored, or enjoyment eater, and as of now it has been extremely easy to change my view on food. My wife can sit next to me with a big bowl of ice cream and I don't feel the need for a bowl myself at all. At this point food is what I have to put in my body to remain healthy. I dont hate the taste of things at all, but the enjoyment that used to be there is just gone, and I dont miss it at all. Like I said this could vary from person to person depending on what you relationship with food was. I myself cannot feel any difference in myself physically inside. All I know is I eat a little bit of food and I get that "tight" feeling and I dont even have a desire to eat another bite. It is fantastic! The biggest side effect I have had from the surgery is an intense love and appreciation for my wife. All I want to do is tell her how much I love her and how much she means to me. I guess I have sort of turned into a bit of a chic but I dont care.  I  her.

LOL..  I think I'm already there.. it's gonna be terrible.  We had our ups and downs before I got hurt, but since I've been home.. man, I've HAD to depend on my wife, (coming from a guy who didn't "need" anyone...).. and it's drawn us so much closer. Thanks for the insights Troy! Thanks all for your answers, I think I know about what to expect now Off to eat my 'last big meals' with our families.... LOL.  Happy Thanksgiving all! Dale
