Admitting I am Stupid to my fellow men
Matty -
I ditto everyone else's post. We all make mistakes. I have done it and still do. It could have been anything, the grease, veggies, etc.... I am 5 1/2 months out and I had to hurl last night. I would rather do that then sit in pain for 2 hours, but that just me....
This is the trial and error period. I also can do things now tht made me sit 3 month agao.
I am also going to look into the papaya thingie......

Mine was naked fried chicken wings about two months out, I only ate one or two but I felt stuff and I thought I was going to die. I finally had to make myself throw up because it hurt so bad. It the most pathetic hurl I have ever seen, just a few little piece of chicken and some spit but I felt better. I can eat them just fine now but I really don't have much of a desire for fried foods anymore. To much and it out the other end pretty quick. The dicovery phase with food will continue foe a long time till you rebuild a list of items you can enjoy and it agrees with your new plumbing...
Welcome to your new life, it's worth it in the end!!
OK, did a 'google' on papya enzymes. Sounds good, and sounds a LOT better than sitting around feeling 'punched in the gut' for an hour+.
So, went to Wally-World and bought a bottle. Less than $5 for a bottle of 180 chewable tablets. Took 4 (the recommended dose). They taste good - amazingly enough, they taste like papaya! Who'da thunk it?
I'll have to wait and see if they really help things.
Oh, and I got a FART at Wally-World, too! I needed some jeans, and they had some on sale. Tried on a pair of size 50. They were TOO BIG!!! Had to go to a 48. Been a LONG time since I could wear a 48.
Yeah, bay-bee!!!

Papaya or meat tenderizer will help to break down the meat or what ever is stuck. Basicly helps digset "disolve" it so it will pass. My Nut told us about this in our mandatory pre-op class. I have never tried it yet. The one time I really needed it I was in my car in the middle of no where. I ate some beef jerky to fast and felt like a brick had swelled up in my stomache.

Just a f/u on the papaya enzyme pills, for any of you guys wondering if they're worth it.
I've been using them for a couple weeks now, only when I think I might need them, and I can report: no more 'foamies' episodes!
Now, it MAY be that I'm just paying more attention to chewing, slowing down, etc. But the Wally-World pills are cheap insurance, in my book.
So, consider this a big thumbs-up!
