Hey Guys, Well, Monday is my day!.  I was told by the nurse to eat a light breakfast tomorrow morning and then I need to be on clear liquids the rest of the day while I "Cleanse" .  My question is...  What would YOU consider to be a light breakfast?

Dude, A one day clear liquid diet pre-op is like a second Christmas gift.  Go light and just grab a protein shake.  I have to do a mandatory full week ( others are like 3 weeks) so consider yourself lucky. Good luck, hope all goes well for you.   My date is 11 more days. Guy

Congrats on your surgery date Robert.

I wouldn't go Shoney's breakfast bar breakfast crazy, but enjoy yourself.   Eat something you enjoy in moderation.

Best of luck on your journey man!

Chad.

Robert, Congrats on your date.  Will be praying for you and hoping for a speedy recovery.  We will move down and make room for you on the Loser's Bench!! Eat what you like but in moderation.

Wow - the last 24 hours before my surgery, I was allowed nothing but clear liquids and, at noon, Milk of Magnesia.  Then, the last 12 hours, absolutely nothing. You're lucky - personally, if you're having the RNY, I wouldn't have anything but, at most, a protein shake of some sort.  Boost is good, or something like that. The reason why, is, they're going to be moving your intestines around.  Last thing you want is to have a floater in there when they cut into it.   Just my opinion.
