Well everything the doc told me before surgery has come to pass.2 months ago my family Dr. took me off all diabetes meds.A long ways from 180 units of insulin and 4 pills a day!15 months out and only had to back for 1 week because i let myself get dehydrated.

Way to go, Freedude! ^5 (can you say "I <3 My DS" ???) I was in the same exact boat as you w. the diabetes, medication-wise .. I'll never forget the day my PCP looked at my blood test results, a few months out, and exclaimed, "your A1C is lower than MINE!" (and he's not even a diabetic, supposedly). That was one of the best days of my post-op life!
