Support Groups For MEN...longest post ever....
Actually, my big gripe with the local support groups here is that the majority (if not almost all) of them meet on Saturday a.m.s., some as early as 9 a.m. .. I don't know about you guys, but Saturday a.m.s is when I want to sleep in late for once .. Gals though apparently don't have as much of a problem with that time slot, for some reason, for the most part .. What's wrong with making it a Saturday afternoon, or at least no earlier than noon?

OK, maybe my longest post ever….
Coming from you that's really saying something!!

I agree with your points DX, and Paul's as well. I will never attend a support group meeting again. I get nothing out of it, and even got insulted, and this was both times I went. There have been splinter support groups formed in my area, but they fall apart quickly. Also around Boston, many support groups are closed so if you had your surgery somewhere else then relocate, you are **** out of luck. I enjoy the mens board and I have even offered support to our brothers, but I tend to do it via e-mail. I used to post at Quix, but it has quickly turned into the "clique crowd" and has a couple of really arrogant individuals that I cannot stand. I am glad that Tek is doing well in spite of them. I am blessed with a minor clinical/medical background, so I have the ability to research articles, grams of protein, basal metabolic rate, and information on vitamin and nutraceutical, thus helping me maintain my success, sans support group. Oh well, so goes my rant, but good luck with everything, although a feel as a group men are very uneasy to attend a live support group, this board suits my needs just fine.
chucknutt has something coming up soon on a website. so for those of us who don't attend maybe something on the web will do. i seem to always be working on the saturdays my group meets. all i know is this site has kept me on the path. maybe chuck will post his site when it's ready. i know he's all worried about "pimping" but it's for a good cause afterall. so maybe one of us can announce his site when it's up and running.
in the meantime, i think it's good we have a couple guys on here like chuck, paul and the other cb who know about support on a professional level.....carbonblob
