Hey...It's fruit season...Myths and facts
Hi All
I am with Dx and Smooth on this one. Six months out and I have been eating an apple every evening for the last 2 months. I can eat a small banana or half of a larger one. I do well with berries and a few chunks of mellon. I really like pineapple, and it is very good for digestion. I use the apple for fiber and sweet snack, and the rest as part of a rounded eating plan. Lots of vitamins and minerals, and in moderation, don't have dumping issues with fruit.
I like raisins and other dried fruit, but there is always a sugar and caloric consequence. As past overeaters, we generally don't know when to stop, and dried fruit can add up to a lot of calories.

I am almost 3 months out and about three weeks ago I started adding fruit to my diet eveyday. It causes me no dumping whatsoever. Apples are hard for me to eat, but pineapple, grapes, strawberries, and watermelon are staples of mine. I eat them everyday and my surgeon encourages me to do so. They are a great source of fiber, carbs, natural sugars, and water. Aweosme food group. Very good for the body.

I eat at least two to three servings a day of some type of fruit. Apples, oranges, grapes, bananas, strawberries, peaches, cantaloupe, and watermelon. I can't get enough fruit now days, combine that with an everything bagel with cream cheese plus coffee and I call it breakfast everyday. I also have fruit in the afternoon as a snack along with dry roasted peanuts or almonds. I don't dump on anything so your mileage may vary. Plus I burn most of the carbs off by walking and hiking all the time.
