Lose the tie, open the shirt to the top of your bush, and get some gold chains a' blingin'  Just kidding!  BTW wedding receptions are a GREAT place to score drunk *****

Thanks for all the input.... it is at a nice restaurant/banquet facility in Spring Lake NJ...not extremely fancy but nice....He did go out of his way to say to dress casual so that's why I don't want to do the jacket....I actually dug through the closet this morning and found an old jacket from my honeymoon (when i was about 35 lbs lighter than I currently am) and it was actually big on me, but looked OK.  Maybe i'll put up a pic of that combo tonight, with and without the tie and let you all decide HAHA because I'm feeling like a woman right about now all concerned about what everyone is gonna think.  LOL

I always overdress for any occasion.  I would much rather be overdressed and pull off the tie later than be the one in a polo when everyone else is wearing tuxedos. Of course, I really really like clothes.  Especially now that I can fit into the good stuff but my problem was bad even when I was big.  I just had to pay the price for the hard to find stuff. As for your outfit, I think it looks fine especially if they said casual.  Like someone else said, you could probably lose the tie.  I really don't see any sense in wearing a tie if you're not sporting a coat.  I also think a pair of black slacks would go better with that shirt.  Just wear some nice brown/orange shoes and a matching belt to top it off. Heres an example of shoes...

thanks i'll try it with black slacks... the shoes you recommended look similar to the ones i just bought yesterday, would brown shoes with black pants look ok?

Those should work, just make sure you have a brown leather belt as well.

I've given this more thought, Adam..... DEFINITELY wear the tie!  Halfway through the reception, when everyone is nice and lubricated, you can put the tie on your head like a hippy headband and rock the house (and dampen some panties) by playing some air guitar when the DJ spins some Journey or Reo Speedwagon After the applause for your performance has ended, slip said headband around the neck of your pick for the night... insuring your evening's claim on her vagina in a public manner.    Better bring a "family tree" cheat sheet with you  - you don't want to end up banging a cousin or niece by mistake
