Errands using my bicycle...
Used my bike today. Went and visited my father in law who's in a rest home. It's about 1 1/2 miles away. Used my daughter's bike (a generic type of mountain bike). With the price of gas the way it is...and the size of my belly...the way it wants to be (have a trouble with grazing). I may start to run a few more errands on the bike. If I'm tired...I'll take the car. Save some money and get healthy at the same time. Brian
Awesome Brian. I run most of my errands on my bike as I have panniers (saddlebags) which I can put in groceries and the like. Kills two birds with one stone, exercise and save $$$. I think we're going to see a lot more people on their bikes following suit given the high price of gas. It's been this way in Europe and most other parts of the the world for years so we're just catching up.

Along those lines of saving money, the guy at the bike shop said to expect a 10-20 percent increase in prices for new bikes next year. There are some import incentives that are ending and with the gas increase and increased demand for bikes, they see the opportunity to gouge us hahaha.
Now I actually believe this guy on the increase, because he encouraged me to search some alternative sites for bikes due to my price range. He wasn't just trying to scare me into buying a bike from him right then. I couldn't believe that he was providing me with an alternate sales location. I will deffinately be taking my bike back to him for repairs, and new equipment.
