Holy cow! That looks like the car which nearly plowed me over in Iowa last week. I wonder if the old lady was vacationing in Mexico? Seriously, what a gruesome picture. It is dangerous out there especially in places where drivers aren't used to seeing cyclists. I'm fortunate living in Colorado since you can't help but get used to watching for bicycles on the road since they're all over the place. In this case, how can you not see 20 frickin' cyclists???? Too much tequila I imagine. Great reminder to be a defensive cyclist cause you never know when a driver doesn't see you.Thanks Blksmooth. Boner

Yep .. saw the video on the news this a.m. .. Amazing that only one of them was killed .. (they said the driver was "allegedly drunik" and "fell asleep" = passed out?) ...

I wondfer what the penalty is under Mexican law for "negligent homicide" or "intoxication homicide"? (I know a simple car accident there is technically a criminal offense!) I'm amazed no one has yet started up some kind of anti-Mexican or illegal immigrant joke about it and started sending it around, either ..

THis is the thing that always scares me about riding a bike. I have seen so many close calls it scares the bejesus out of me. Have you ever topped a hill and came up on a bunch of bicyclers riding right in the middle of the road? I have been in the ditch for that one and watched the bikers just ride on like nothing happened. DANGER WILL ROBINSON.
