I saw this news article - about the tragic death of a child following a near-drowning incident - on the Today Show this a.m..  I first heard about this bizarre medical phenomenon on an episode of Baywatch many years ago.   Everyone should know about this unexpected consequence, which can be fatal if not prepared for:
