Getting back on my feet after hernia repair / abdominoplasty.
My wife and I went and parked at the Huntington Beach Dog Beach today and walked to Bolsa Chica State park and back - total a little over two and a half miles
I can't believe I did it - wasn't that long ago I couldn't have made it a hundredth of that distance. I probably could have walked more, but the doctor told me I should take it a little easy still.
Can't wait to get all the way healed and start working out with the personal trainer I have lined up and get a bike and start riding.
Great job, Nick!! I'm glad you're training hard cause I just pulled this up from the RAGBRAI site:
"At 471 miles, the route is nearly the same distance as last year's - 477 miles - but the amount of climb is not. Last year's 10,000 registered riders climbed 13,600 feet. This year they'll face 22,500 feet - it's a return to the hills, valleys and ridges that define this state."
Looks like a great and FUN ride.

2 miles (21 minutes) on the elliptical, 15 minutes on weights, 40 minutes (2.8 miles) on the treadmill, and a too short bike ride. It was dark and my daughter was with me. I plan a MUCH longer ride tomorrow.
Trudged through 3 salvage yards today looking for a seat for my daughter's pickup. Didn't find one. I'll be mowing the back yard, vacuuming the pool and walking 3 miles later on this evening. Guess I better get started with that yard. It ain't cold down here in the northern Mexican desert. 101 with 25 mile per hour winds. Oh well. It keeps the ******' yanks from trying to make it in to another retirement community.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
