Hey, Hello. Howdy!
You are a tad bit older than I and in better shape (BMI wise) from before I had WLS, so there is a world of possibilities for you
There are many people who are more along than myself and will probably give you the advice on what, if any WLS would be best for you. My advice is do your research and do what is right for you!
As for your political views, pardon my ignorance, but as a Canadian I guess I would probably fall into the 'commie' category for an American, but really I am a fiscal conservative, with a healthy appreciation for social liberty.

Thanks Clapton, probstc, other late arrivals!
Probstc: This is AT HEART exactly what I am: a fiscal conservative, social libertarian. But we've lost our way down here. I'm not looking for a Wild West Anarchy that some Libertarians (Big "L") espouse, but believe in the REAL values of the old GOP before it became *****d out to the PACs. Dems and Repubs both are just tools of divergent PACs (Political Action Committees). We need a return to leadership from men who have a grasp of what the Founding Fathers intended and the cojones to Just Say No to the AARP, the AMA, the Am Bar Ass'n, Big Oil, etc...
Finding someone who can convince the tools and the sheeple to disconnect from the teat of Nanny State Guvamint entitlements seems next to impossible to me...I'm really a very rational, peace-loving guy, not a Randy Weaver/Ted Kaczynski type.
Even though I DO have framed pictures of both on my mantle over my fireplace!
You DO know I'm kidding, right? RIGHT?
Dan
