I got a rather interesting call from my Doctors office.. (The returned a MSG) According to them Cigna (My insurence co) is relaxing their stand on surgery a little.. They still req the 6mo spr diet but right now...................... They are saying the they only need 2 yrs medical rcrds..  So alittle bit of a change.. But, they are also stating that if I can provide proof that I have fallowed Weigh****ches anytime with the  last 5 years (Menus,,, Weigh in logs, Rcpts) that they can submit that to the insr co and they would take that into consideration and that might speed up the approval proccess..  HOW SAVES THESE THINGS????? Anyone???? I have never kept a scrapbook of my diet failures...... Does anyone??? Am I alone???

Im glad to hear that.. Its kind of crazy that they think anyone would.. But, nice to know that they are relaxing a little on it.. Maybe their starting to see the importance of the surgical option for some of us.. Maybe it will mean that there will be less hoops to jump in the future..

Any chance you might be able to get records from bank or from WW or whoever you did the program with.  You might be able to show that you made the monthly membership payments etc. That might work. Scott

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!

I didn't keep receipts from them, but I had done a liquid diet through a prior insurance carrier about 3 years prior to my surgery and they were able to access those records.

Send them a couple of grocery bags full of empty Slim-Fast cans and ask if they'll accept them as proof.  Just a thought.

I think that the insurance companies know damn good and well that we do not keep souvenirs of our failures....that is why they require them, it gives them an easy out.

At this point according to the doctors office it really isnt a requierment.. But, it helps move the process along. You know cc statements or checking account statements might work actually I didnt ask.. I always paid cash for those.. So honestly Im out on that too. I asked if the would except my family photo album too. They didnt answer.. But then the could see me fat at 7 and 12 and 18 and 20 and 28 and 30 and really start to get fat 35, 37 and now REALLY FAT at (couch) 40.. But, still they didnt answer... The home videos really give you a good idea. They always seam to get me from the back..

WW might actually have it also. They keep that kind of thing because of lifetime memberships etc
