Golf after WLS

I have no doubts that this WLS is going to be beneficial for my golf game, but its a real adventure in the rapid loss phase to play with a different body every time out.   Any of you guys found a way to master the ever changing swing plane?

I went out one time after WLS...Very frustrating.  With my older clubs I could strike the ball between 220-200 yards.  After WLS I could only do about 180.  I also had some loss of muscle mass...so my swing was slower.  I don't think I will go back to golf (or jogging for that matter).  I have a bad back.  I'll try other things that put less pressure on it.  Concerning the swing plane...A few buckets of balls and a couple of 1/2 hour lessons from a golf instructor may help.  Brian

I'm not much of a golfer, but I'd imagine you've also got to overcome that whole "center of gravity" thing. I know for the first few months I was loosing so quickly that I was constantly off-balance. Just a thought.

I haven't golfed in a few years (pounds).  That's one of the things I'm looking forward to doing again.  Maybe it's fortunate that I was never very good to begin with.  An inconsistant swing plane is par for the course for me.  It's like the guys who are concerned about the grain of the grass.  I hope that someday I'm good enough that the grain of the grass makes a difference.  Don't worry... I'll warn everyone before I go out again.  FORE!!!

As an avid golfer in a former life, I found that my game had diminished greatly as my body mass increased and because of radiation therapy my stamina was gone.  Now, with my new body, I found that indeed my swing plan has changed dramatically.  Frequent  visits to the driving range are the key to reestablish your game.  It is a lot more fun now that I can finish 18 holes without being totally drained.  Practice, practice, practice.... Oh, and keep your head down. Paul
