I, for one, need the support of the Men's Forum

Despite the tone of the discussions of the past 2 days, I still need this forum.  I'd gladly use bigal2029's group if it were more active but it seems that most of us prefer to post to this forum.  I just want to encourage the men who have been lurking to become more active with this forum or the group.  I do get valuable encouragement from you guys and I thank you for the strength and support that you give me.

As a MAN that has been trying to get WLS approved through BCBS for over a year, and trying to learn as much as possible prior to surgery; I find this MENS forum to be the most interesting, informative, and helpfull forum on not just OH, but on the intire internet.  Not only that, it is the honest truth that the post and comments here are more informative and helpfull to us men with obvioulsy much less drama and non WLS related post.  As a lurker and constant reader on here, I look forward to my post op days of good achievements to share and inspire the next group of pre-op's on their journey.   Thank you GUYS!!!!!!

Yeah with my local support group only meeting once a month, and it being mostly women, (I think we might have 3-5 guys who wander in and out), I really appreciate the guys on this site and the information that is available. Thanks Scott

I recently found this group and so far what I have read has been helpful. Sometimes the main boards get cluttered up with messages that don't really pertain to what us guys encounter.

hard for me to let go too sjbob. if i feel censored then what's the point. i'm a big boy and can make my own decisions, opinion or chose to just block or delete idiots. when the day came that they treated us like children, locked the discussion and a guy acts like the biggest tuna in the bunch, well, i'll go to tuna town if i want to be treated like that. so bye and thanks for mentioning big al's group. i'm hoping the mass exodus will go to just one site so we can all be together again. i don't care where, just where most of us go. i went to dx's place. so i hope to see more of the guys in there. later.......

Yea, this has been a real resource for me, too.  I am checking out the quixotic site and it looks like there'll be a learning curve, but I'm in for the move.  I don't like the changes at OH - the greed - and I don't like the way this recent fiasco was handled either. CB

Quix is a really good place, but there is only one place like this, unfortunately.  Quix has very good people with very good ideas.  A lot of them are folks like Dx who have gotten tired of this board and politics over the years.  I mostly lurk there, always trying to learn something new or get a different perspective.  If they were kind enough to create a Men's board on their site, perhaps we could just move over there. However, I don't think they are set up like that (not speaking for them).

Two things are for sure; I am very sorry to lose anybody from this board, especially someone as knowledgeable as Paul or Dx, and I would miss the guys on this board too much to go anywhere where we all weren't going together.  I wouldn't know what to do without my daily dose of Bama Bob!! ;-)  BWAAAAAAAA

I'll be joining both. My own decision was based on the fact that I would rather stay and be a pain in their collective side than let them feel or even think they chased me off. They probably could care one way or the other who stays or leaves since they don't get any money off us. I won't buy products from sponsored sites. I don't use dr's or products who advertise. That's how I make my voice known. Hit them in the wallet.

You WILL find support here.  Don't worry about my ranting...just letting off a little steam and yanking someone's chain.  I think many guys may go back and forth between OH Men's Forum and Quix.  OH is great for pre and new post op WLS.  Then guys, who have been here a few years, start to want to see alittle more respect from OH (which they may not be getting).  So hang here bro...You will get alot out of this site.  Yet remember this is a for profit site.  Any dissention or criticism will not be put up with by OH...Hence they can do no wrong.  Brian
