Blueberries are in....back up the truck

Looks like a bumper crop of blueberries as Kroger is selling them 5 pounds for $10. Far cry from the $4 for 4oz this winter. I bought 10 pounds worth and froze 9 pounds. Blueberries freeze great and don't seem to lose any taste or nutrional value when thawed.

SJ had mentioned in an earlier post how eating blueberries made him feel better. Not only are they a "super food" nutritionally speaking but they sure are tasty. Great in cereal, protein smoothies or just raw.

Go for it, fellas and give em' a try.

I'm eating them as we speak.

1/2 cup plain yogurt
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
handfull of granola
handfull of blueberries

yum. 27 grams of protein, good fiber, good everything from a blueberry.

Great recipe....I just forwarded it to my brother so he can eat it (sans granola) in the mush food phase of his WLS diet. He can add the granola once he moves on to solid foods in 3 months or so.

Thanks
