Yes Man go for it.  What have you got to lose :):)  You can always do the surgery but this is a rare oportunity if all the medical stuff checks out OK and you can be off work. It might help your friend also adn that is another plus.  Do it for you though not anyone else..  let us know:):)

I say GO For it! It is an opportunity of a lifetime. If anything at all it would probably help in maintianing insurance qualification since it is a bonafide weight loss attempt. Not to mention the fact, if your interesting enough maybe we can finally get rid of Jarred and have you do the Subway commercials!

I chime in on the "go for it" side.  Opportunities like this don't come around every day, and like Gary said, surgery is the last option.  They will get your butt in shape, that's for sure.  You also won't be the first guy showing his moobs!  Never really did understand that though, why they don't let the guys keep their shirts on to weigh. Notice towards the end of the season, they do let them keep them on?  I would love to be on the show, but there is no way I would pass the physical.  When you do your stress test, let me know and I'll send you my light bulb!    Michael

Hey baja,

They didn't have to put you on a treadmill to get your heartbeat up.

All they had to do was re-read some of the old posts put on here by your friends in Tuna-Town!

I bet your heartbeat would have topped in record time!!

While it would be exicting to go for it you have to consider your insurance may change and no longer cover wls. this happen to me a number of years ago and it has taken me 4 years and a job change to get insurance that would cover wls. I think at this point you have to stop and take a hard look at your options. I am sure if you are here you have tried dieting and exercising in the past only to gain your weight back, it has happened to all of us. I know for me the last time I dieted and exercised I lost over 70lbs and have since almost gain it all back. For me the answer is easy I would do the surgery. I would go on the show only if I could get all the taping in before surgery, the approval process for me has been a year and a half. If I did not have approval before the show starts taping I would make sure that any contract you sign does not forbid you from having the surgery before a certian time lapse. Good luck on what ever you do and keep us posted.

I would want to do it except my job would say no. Surgery is a medical reason to be off. Think carefully
