RAGBRAI XXXVI IS HISTORY!
Under the (safe) assumption that fellow Tour de Fat team member, Nick from Utah, successfully biked his way across the great state of Iowa this week, my heartfelt congratulations!! No small physical accomplishment for anyone let alone someone who was just a couple short years ago, morbidly obese.
WAY TO GO, NICK!! You da man!!

My congrats to Nick! I know the people of Iowa are proud to be involved in that ride. It is a unique State fair that travels accross the state. A different town hosts the riders each night of the ride and they have the usual midway attractions at each stop along the way. I also know that towns submit bids to the state years in advance to take part in this week long event. So, it is unique in its conception and execution. Again, I think it's a good goal for many cyclists as they build up their stamina and strength. Plus, you need to be able to afford it both financially and in the ability to take a week off to participate in the ride. You'll probably want to scehule in some time after the ride for a complete recovery. A possible hindrance comes in sacrificing spending time with your family or planning their vacation to co-incide with your ride. Many people can't do it until their children are grown.
