I took my family and friends to my favorite Mexican restraunt dranks some beers and had a good time. I do not regret it at all.  Do I miss it??  The answer is no. That was the last day of the old me.

I'll prbly have a last dinner with family and friends before I go on the pre-op diet.  Nothing too crazy - I'll trim up some cow tenderloin and have a steak dinner.

Once I'm under doc's care, then I'll diet by the numbers.

Especially when I read about people's fantastic "last meals", I wish I hadn't been so anal retentive and such a good "do-be" before my surgery.    I did a WW-type diet plan for the two months immediately pre-op, and I was so focussed on losing weight that I didn't feel free to indulge.  But that's me: either I can't scrape any discipline together to save my life OR I have it too good; there's nothing in-between.

The closest thing I had to a "last meal" was about a month before WLS; I went to a Korean restaurant (yummm... bulgogi...drool...) and ate pretty moderately, though after dieting for a month, I felt like a pig.

My last big meal will be lobster next weekend. I will be controled around food between now and then and after that more controlled. It is a slow gear up. Nothing so drastic as to make me do the whiplash thing and eat everything in sight. But still always moving towards the goal.

I have a two week preop diet of liqid protein for breakfast, lunch and snack and then a small high protien low cal dinner. I will be on vacation that week before my surgery. That will be a challenge but one that I am willing to commit too. Dinnr might be more than I should have a couple of times but it will be FAR less than I would do normally. And all the ohter eating that day will be right on target with the Dr.

That is what I can do.

Surgery 4 weeks from today! WOW

My last supper was a big 'ol platter of fried clams and onion rings. I still enjoy clams, only now they are steamed and not fried. One thing I wanted but did'nt have was Kentucky Fried Chicken.

I've been having a few "last suppers", but trying to avoid "last binges".  I'm just having things that I won't be able to have after surgery, either for a while or forever.  This weekend I had some BBQ ribs. I've had my favorite Chinese dish (shrimp and brocolli - the sauce has a lot of sugar",  a big Schmidts cream puff, and this weekend, I'm having a porter house steak that would kill a lesser man!

Everybody has there own way at looking at this stuff. Thanks for sharing.

A few days before the start of pre-op I drove my wife and I 203 miles to Lowake Texas to eat at the Lowake Steakhouse. I had heard about it for 30 years. It did not disappoint. I had one of the three best steaks I've ever had and two sips of very cold beer. I will remember it fondly.
