Anyone currently in the military with a "tool"

The reason I ask is I am still a member of the Army National Guard in a current position that is almost impossible for them to replace me. I was hoping to go active duty again as an RN once I am healthy and skinny enough. Guys I already know you can't get into the service if you have had bypass work done but what about soldiers who are in already and get the fix.

woot! no draft for me! I hadn't heard about this exclusion. You might want to check that it doesn't breach some kind of contract I know in some jobs doing something elective that renders you in a non-compliant state can void contractual services (health / retirement benefits). Just something to look into.

I'm not in the military n did some surfing. One of the things I ran across said your local recruiters office might have the information you need.

But remember you would not have access to supplements n vitamins required in a war environment. I am assuming you might be deployed.

Good luck in your attempt. to serve our country. Wishing you the best

If you're still looking into WLS surgery.  You might want to look into the VSG.  You don't have the malabsorbtive issues with RNY.  That might be an alternative with the military.  Just an idea.
