...just in your first weeks home?
Hang in there,
It DOES GET EASIER!
.... just hitting your first stall?
It happenes to many....
Scan back over the last months of this weekly post,
And you’ll get a fairly clear picture of the fact
that there isn’t a "Typical" progress,
Just massive, persistent, overwhelming - PROGRESS!

Yes, using the scales can make some crazy,
(Slower loss is Still Loss!)
-But-
Keeping track and forcing myself to "Watch It!"
Has been the "What works for me," for maintaining my loss.
I’ll eat, but know that I need to exercise a little bit more
If the numbers climb just a little.
That way,
I only make "Little" adjustments to my weekly routine.
If the "Scales Make You Discouraged?"
Then STAY OFF of Them!

But for those who Are weighing in-
Drum roll--------------------------------------

Hop your Azz up on the Scales!

How much have you lost?
Since Surgery?
Or in Pre-Op Diet?

And has the Scale moved this week for you?
If so, How Much?

Guys,

I'm down 113 pounds in 12 1/2 months.  Not bad for lap band.  I started at 306 and this morning I weighed 193.  Keep up the great work and continue to reach for your goals.

Me??

2 weeks pre-op: 432
Day of surgery (4/10/06): 417
Lowest weight post-op: 175
Today: 197

Not to fear; the weight I've put back on is due directly to weight lifting and exercise.  When I was at my lowest, I had had a hernia surgery and I had really cut back on fats knowing that I wouldnt be able to exercise.  After I was cleared, I went for it at the gym, and thus the weight.  I am completely happy with my weight and build at this point.

However, I have to have another hernia surgery on the 13th.  This is an ongoing problem for me due to weak abdominal wall, whats left of it, and that fact that my body has a habit of rejecting the mesh they put in.  This time, the surgeon is going to use biomesh, which I am told is fabricated from human cadever (gross).  I feel like I'm having a transplant from a doner.  This is supposed to work alot better than synthetic mesh and bind better with your own parts, thus making the abdominal wall stronger.  Lets hope it works.

Needless to say, I'm gonna have to stop working out again.  So I will cut back on fats and calories for the duration.  Expect to see the pounds drop again.  But hey, at least I know how to work it now, as opposed to the days when I just kept putting on the weight without a thought.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend boys, I'm off to the gym and then to the beach is the weather clears up here.
