snick I agree. Those things are constant.

But this where I am right now. I have had 150 calories today- all protein powder. I literally don't know if I'm supposed to eat or not. Yes, I've asked the nut. I have followed the advice.

The cute young nut and half the people here say in essence - "Don't count calories . Eat good high protein low cal low fat stuff, just keep an eye on your portions." One person even suggested to me on another forum that I wasn't a real WLS'er if I counted calories in and out. A traitor to the team, as it were.

An equally fervent half says that calories ARE important and  800-1000 is too many for this "close in"  from surgery. I look at their profiles and I gotta tell you, by my seat of the pants half-assed observation it appears the "low-intake" folks lose weight faster.

Is either one  healthier? Is there a difference longterm? Don't know. Right now I want to do all I can do to achieve the weight loss.

If one plan produces faster loss and greater overall loss I'm heading that way.  Now the hard part. Figuring out what works for me.

I have come to an epiphany. I'll try them both for 2 weeks. If one produces greater loss then I'll go with that one. If they are equally good or bad I'll stay with the nut . Thanks, guys. I appreciate all of the responses. They really helped (as did your profiles)

Please keep us posted and don't be a stranger - you are welcome here anytime. In the short time I have been here I have found everyone here to be painfully honest but very kind and concerned.

this is a great thread to see what other early out are eating. Its also a good place to get some food ideas. I am 2 months out tomorrow and down 63 LBS since pre surgery appt and 52 from surgery morning. For me calories mean nothing its all about protein and water. BUT I do prefer Thedailyplate.com to fitday.com, they just have more info in their database.

Hey there.
Just dropping in some old re-post material for you,
if interested.
First, for some variety in Shakes?
The-Smoothie-Bible
and some-
Ideas-to-Get-in-More-Protein-during-'mushy'-Stage
some general -
Go-To-Foods that many have found useful.
A general Grocery-List for Post-ops further out...
And, one last one...
A way that worked for me to sneak in Exercise/Activity
Little by Little.

Glad you found this bunch of guys.
Like Russ said, it is very valuable to get some direct answers rather than the folks who populate the Main OH Board
Who tend to blow glitter up your azz and offer little actual info beyond- (((((hugz)))))

Keep hitting profiles...
Many keep some of their best stories there.
Best Wishes-
Dx
