Anyone been denied insur after surgery

I had the RNY in Jan of 07 and have been complication free ever since.  I may have to apply for an individual medical insurance due to changes at work.  Does anyone know if the surgery will prevent me from getting a Blue Shield policy.

some surgeries can.  For example I had cancer surgery, the insurance company denied me supplimental insurance coverage for the next 5 years because of that.  They however didn't even blink at the RnY surgery.

This was Aflac I was dealing with.
