Longest Stalls
Some of you post-ops may be able to assist me. I seem to be having a stall which I have been assured is normal and whatnot (no less infuriating though) but what I want to know is what is some of the longest stalls you guys have experienced? So far mine have been sequestered in 2-week increments but I'm sure I could go longer I just haven't been post-op for too long.
What Scott said. Don't fret.....just stay with the healthy eating (protein first and healthy carbs) and exercise (mix of cardio and strength) program and you'll bust through any and all stalls.
During my first year, I had a 4 week stall at the 9 month mark, then I lost 10 pounds over the next 2 weeks. Some say fool your body by carb loading....bla, bla. bla....just let your body do its thing and feed it good fuel and you'll be losing again soon.
Boner

My eating habits didn't change much over the past year. I stick to the program for the most part. Maybe a few too many carbs every now an again.
After my heart episode last July I lost confidence in my body and stalled exercise other than walking, which I continued at least three times a week.
I haven't lost or gained more than five pounds since June 15th 2007. How's that for a stall?
Now, that being said. Since I started training for my triatholon back in June of this year, my % body fat has dropped 5.5% which I'm totally extatic about. That puts me at 25.5% My goal is 20%.

My NP actually told me at my last visit that I needed to eat a little bit more carbs (and she said she has rarely ever told any of her RNY patients that). She said that because I hit the gym 4-5 times a week, I need more carbs than the average RNY patient in order to have the energy needed to workout.
My carbs mostly come from oats, a little rice, wheat bread and pasta. It has helped a lot with the energy levels at the gym and has made the weightloss a little more consistent (although not that fast). I've been losing about a pound a week for the last 6 weeks but I figure as long as it's going down that is all that matters.
Since I only have less than 30 pounds to go for my personal goal, I'm figuring it is going to be harder from this point on. My personal trainer told me that since I've been hitting the gym hard for 12 months now, I am going to have to start stepping it up a lot more as the months go by. The same routine that worked 4 months ago isn't doing a damn thing now since my body is used to it.
