August 50 mile challenge! Where ya at?

I've been nursing some serious friggin' teeth pain that has hampered my training for the past couple weeks.  Mouf-ache and tooth pain sucks giant, hairy, golden monkey balls!  Hell, I haven't even written my race report for Twin Cities tri yet and that, for me, is almost as fun as actually doing the race!  No more excuses though.  I'm breaking out the tube of vagisil and putting my swollen vagina to rest this week and getting things back on track.  

So far this month I've ran around 12 miles or so and rode around 60.   So how are you guys doing so far this month?   Exactly 20 days left to make the commitments and meet the challenge!   Post up your results for the first 11 days and let everyone know where ya at so far.

So far Rode about 86 miles! Big improvement for me.

On a side note Chad saw the interview via the video feed but kept trying to catch it on CNN with no luck. But great interview.  C'ya Bob

I feel your toof pain, Chad. My goal for August was 500 cycling miles and I've gotten in around 175 so far so not so good. If I can muster up the courage, I've got a huge ride this Saturday up to the top of 14K foot Mt. Evans. The ride is with the untra-marathoner Rocky Mountain Cycling Club who totally wasted me the last time I rode with them. Interesting challenge.

I'm not training for anything except life in general, but I continue to commute by bike every day.
~15 miles around trip (5 days a week).  Some days I get home and put in another few miles with the ol' lady.

It's not alot, but my rides to and from work include numerous hills and I pull them better every day. =)

and I stay sore.  Which bothers me a little... my quads are continually sore.  I usually give them at least 1 days rest.  I'd give them more... but I can't convince my boss to let me work from home :D

I just started yesterday, so I know I am very far behind.  I jogged about 3 miles yesterday. My goal is to hit 25 by months end.  For the challenge does the 50 miles need to be ran and can some of them be biked as well?
