Im back

Ok everyone im back from having surgery on Monday.I feel as if Im gased but it doesnt move,so the doc thinks its just my insides healing. Im walking and sipping Oh what a chore. Im on a liquid diet for 2 weeks and for know Im not even humgry actually Im noxiuos. Im still drowsy so Im sleeping more,hopefully tomorrow will be different.

The gas will be completely out in about 6-10 days people have said on these boards.  A couple of things for getting the gas out (old husband tales); walking, bending over to try and touch your toes or tie your shoes (don't hurt the incisions), rolling around easily on the floor, pushing it out...by using your hands to massage that area of your gut (almost like you would work out a charlie horse).  They put the camera in the incision by the bellybutton (that is why that one hurts more).  Each day gets easier and easier.  Try and get friends and family to loan you clothes.  If you buy new, you'll be out in them in a couple of weeks.  Look to the thrift stores too.  When you think your done losing...and start to go out and buy new clothes...BAM...You start losing somemore.  Ask questions, we have been there.  Brian

A great way to get gas out is to lay on your left side. Your descending colon is on this side and as you lie there your body weight will massage the gas out. Always works for me.
