What are your goals?
Great post.....I'm also a goal guy although I need to start setting some new ones since the current cycling season is coming to a close. I've still got 3 big ones left for this season though and they are:
1. Climb 14,000+ foot Mt. Evans up the highest road in North America on my bike. It's supposed to happen tomorrow but the weather looks bad (snow) so the Rocky Mountain Cycling Club (RMCC) may end up canceling the ride.
2. Do a 5 hour century ride (average 20 mph over 100 miles) during the Sept. 7, Ride the Buffalo event.
3. Finish the "Horsetooth and Beyond" 200km brevit with the RMCC on Sept. 20. They had the same ride in early spring but I was only able to finish 100 out of the 125 miles. It is nasty.
Ultimately, I want to climb on my bike the top 25 highest peaks in Colorado. Mt. Evans is numero uno so I would like to get it in this summer if possible. I've already got over half done.
Thanks for the thread. It's cool to make your goals public as I find it motivates me "not to fail."

I had one goal pre-op (yeah I've been accused of being short sighted before) and that was to wear a pair of 36" Wranglers. Like some others, I'm finding that there needs to be other goals along the way. I set a goal at 6 months and 303 lbs to be at 265 lbs by 9 months. I'm about 9 days away and it's gonna be close. My college age daughter showed me how to do the ellipticle machine this summer but I haven't had the time to really train on it. I think my next goal will be to be able to do a solid 60 minutes on the ellipticle w/o pussin' out. Those 36's will be wrapped around my formerly fat ass eventually.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
Gosh, I don't know anymore. Weight gain in fat has not been an issue. I've been the motivation for several people to get fit and start exercise programs. Hopefully, I can continue to help motivate people and get even more enjoyment out of the 6-7 different types of exercise that I do. Right now endorphins rule!
Best Wishes,
Dave
