IDGOMB Monday
Yep, it's Monday afternoon here. It's summer vacation and no students or meetings. After two straight days of hot yoga, today was a no yoga day. Instead, I did two hours of P90X videos, namely the Chest and Back video and the Kenpo Karate video. I've come to the conclusion that mixing weights, Yoga, American football practice type calisthenics and jump training with fast karate moves just makes you look like that old olympic decathlete, Bruce Jenner:
Unlike more recent decathletes, I'm told that Bruce could actually still run fast after doing the other events. True?

I did my base 30 minute core this morning but hope to get in a 20 mile ride tonight. I had a monster Indian food lunch today which I have to "pay back."
Regarding Bruce Jenner, who can tell me (without looking it up on the net) where Bruce Jenner went to college?
Boner
Boner,
Got it, thanks for the info. Not sure how I missed the beginning of the threads.
Good emoticons. Was it you that posted the dirty emoticons about two years ago? Remember that?
Core is everything these days, the whole basis of the popular Pilates workout, a lot of the basis for yoga and therapists now focus heavily on the core for injury prevention and rehabilitation. Needless to say, very important for the bike and other sports (but I said it anyway!).
Haven't a clue about Bruce Jenner but would he happen to have the same alma mater as you?
Best Wishes,
Dave
Boner,
Just looked it up. Graceland College in Independence Missouri. Maybe he was RLDS? (the church that broke away after the main Mormon church denounced polygamy?) With all of that energy, one wife might not be enough.
Best Wishes,
Dave
Apologies to RLDS and LDS folks,
I got my history all wrong. Joseph Smith's wife Emma started the RLDS church after his death. Rumor has it that she would have no part of his polygamy in this church. So RLDS was actually the first polygamy free branch off. (historical corrections?) Anyone know if Emma was really upset about Joseph's wanting to take on a gorgeous 16 year old or is that also a rumor?
Best Wishes,
Dave
First time I lifted in 10 years.
Using my new Bowflex Selecttech adjustable dumbbells.
I feel it too! Feels great.
I'm going to do the Body for Life routine for now. Weightlifting alternating days and alternating upper and lower body workouts, and aerobic stuff (probably bike or exercise bike) every other day.
