50 mile per month challenge... 1 week left for August!
I'm ashamed, my month has been so bad running. I probably haven't done 10 miles this month.
I did switch over to my workouts mostly being weights this month, and the weight started coming off at a faster pace again, so I am happy with that.
I just started my running again this week, I'm trying to tune up for the sprint tri I am signed up for in 20 days. Wow only 20 days away. Hmm guess I better pay some more attention to my running.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!
I'm not quite ready to run at three weeks out, but I have been walking at least 1 1/2 miles a day for the past 16 days.
I have a question about sprints. I would like to finish a sprint either at the beginning of the summer next year or at the end. My wife does sprints and I would like to join her. I was at a neighborhood party a few months ago and I challenged all my neighbors (we had a few beers going) saying, If I do a sprint next year will you join me. They all laughed and said sure. A couple weeks later, they weren't laughing quite as hard when they found out I was having this surgery and was very much serious about it. I did have fun messing with them around this and will challenge them to follow through.
My question for you guys: What is a good way to begin training for this for WLS folk? I"m a pretty good swimmer and don't think that will be much of a problem. The running and bike will be the hardest part.
