Soup
So, I just ate a cup of my special spicey bean, tofu soup. I mix rotel, fat free chicen broth, fat free refried beans, black beans, tofu, and mozerella cheese. About 10 grams protein, 122 calories per serving. Anyway, my question has to do with eating and drinking at the same time. Isn't that what soup is. I mean it is food and fluid mixed up. So doesn't that have the same effect as eating fish or a banana with milk?
Not unless you are just like drinking the fluid off the soup AND eating whatever the solids are. The whole "don't drink while eating" thing really only applies if you take in fluids while you're trying to eat a meal of more than soupy substance (i.e. a salad, lettuce wrap, etc). I wouldn't think soup could be in that same category but then again I guess I could be wrong. Hopefully this counts as advice as I'm currently awaiting hurricane Gustav to come and slash my power so my stress level is kinda high at the moment.
It's really easy. Actually i learned about this soup back when I was in weigh****chers on the fat and fiber plan.
Here is their soup. 1 can chicken broth, 1 can rotel, 1 can refried beans. Stir and heat. Very tasty. I wanted to bump up the protein so I added another can of black beans and one container of extra stiff tofu. You can then doctor it up more in your cup serving with some shredded mozerella or some louisiana hot sauce. I'm so glad my pouch can take the heat!!!!
I'm not sure I would add the tofu again next time. But, it wasn't bad.
