Stress (i.e. Hurricane Gustav) Illness?

While we still have power and such I figured I might ask a question of you guys. I NEVER get sick. Like it is a very rare occasion when I get sick. So I woke up the other morning (I guess it was Saturday) and my throat was sore for most of the day. Then Sunday came and my sinuses started acting up and my head started feeling congested and achey. Now it's nearly 3am here in Pride, LA (about 60 miles north of where I actually live, I decided to evacuate to my aunt's house where there's a generator haha) and I'm up and can't sleep because my nose keeps running and I just basically feel like **** So in saying that, does anyone think it could just be from the stress of worrying about what this storm is going to do? I literally never get sick and it seems mighty strange to me that I would get sick just as hurricane Gustav entered the gulf haha. So hopefully this won't affect my getting enough protein in and liquids but I tell you what I don't like being sick and I hope this hurricane mess gets over with soon! Take care guys and if anyone is in the path of this thing...MOVE.

Yup stress brings down your immune system leaving you open to everyday illness that you would otherwise fight off.

Sorry Hopefully this all moves thorugh and does not cause too many problems for everyone. I have yet to look at the news.

Take Care

Take a tylenol cold tab or something ......it will make you feel better...can RNYers take Nyquil? I'd guzzle some of that...nothing better then a Nyquil induced sleep ...lol.

It's probably the stress. Stress lowers your immunity, thats why in natural medicine they always concentrate on biofeedback and such because you're learning to control your "stress response".

I hope that you and your family come out of this ok, and that no damage occurs to your property.
