If I had to suggest a reentry bike look at say a 800 cc mid range cruizer. I have friends that are still large as heck and can do day trips on on them no problem. The one thing about crotch rockets is that the position of obese people on them tends to squeeze down on your mid and hence will make breathing hard. On the other hand if you have a family doing bizzare speeds as a rule will either drain your pocketbook eventually in medical costs cause you are gonna most likely do some asphalt time without the bike and your insurance costs will soar. With a mid range cruiser you can still clock out above 80 which is not too bad and as you loose the horsepower will take you a bit more. Insurance is much cheaper. I am 53 and its less than 150 bucks a year on my 800. I have ridden plenty of high horsepower machines and yeah they roar out but being a fat ol tub myself I was never comfortable on them either. I felt like I was at 300 lbs sitting on the crapper and could not hardly decently steer or counter steer with the stubby handle bars. Anyway the bottom end is you do what you think is best for you. I am now out of surgery into my second week and so far down 22 pounds in less that 14 days. You will probably wierd out how fast it will fall once you get it done. Im still on drinking foods and well it will suck for a while. Just realize you may have to grit your teeth the first couple of days post surgery with all the gas they put to blow you up with. Once it gets moving you will feel like a millon bucks. Good luck on your bike search and dont forget about Ebay for deals either.

Your right MrBill, those Saber V65's clock in at 121 hp and were the fastest production bikes around the mid 80s..I have been looking for one for a while now..They look comfortable too. There was the Magna too but I like the Saber better...

The wife and I were out this afternoon and I had her stop by a local Triumph dealer I want to check of the RocketII.What a bike 2300cc motorcycle talk abut a muscle cruiser. I think they wanted to compete with the Boss Hogg. The only two problems I have with it is the $ and the seat height. Being a short legged soon to be former fat guy seat height is allways a concern. We also checked out the Yamaha Start Line and she pointed out a tourer that she liked. I think she is starting to soften on getting a bike. She is worried that once I get I will spend more time with the bike then her or I will end up killing myself on the damn thing. It is a good thing winter is right around the corner or she might come home to find one in the garage. For a fast bike don't forget the suzuki line they have some great bikes I remember the GS750 was a real screamer. The only problems with motorcycling is there is so many motorcycles and not enough money.
